In January, 2018, Mide conducted a comprehensive health survey with a number of communities along Igbatoro Road, Ondo State. Apedu was identified as a village that needed a steady and safe water supply that was easily accessible. In March, 2019, Chandy Loos was thrilled to be able to dig a bore hole equipped with a hand pump for the community.
The borehole project lasted for about three days and upon completion, the borehole was commissioned for use with an event to celebrate the world water day on 21st March 2019. Some of the village women mentioned that with the availability of a borehole in their community, they will no longer have to trek long distance to get water and their children can get to school in time. We are excited that this community will have improved health because of their access to clean water and also get be more productive because they can invest the time they usually use in search of water into their businesses.
