Chandy Loos Foundation recently completed the Imafon High School WASH Project which marked a remarkable transition for all students and staff of the school as well as the community from being an open defecation practicing community to an open defecation free community. This marks the end of a difficult but successful project for the foundation.
The objective of this project was to rehabilitate their existing but non functional toilets and borehole. The purpose of this is to reduce open defecation and to remarkably reduce morbidity rates due to poor sanitary conditions and indiscriminate handling of faeces.
